I have a craft fair coming up a week from today, so I’ve been matching fabrics and liners and getting things lined up for cutting and interfacing so I can sit down and just sew for the next couple of days. Need to build up that inventory!
But I also need to catch up with the business side of things. Receipts, contracts, making sure I have all the information I need for not just this show, but the next two coming up in November. My desk looks like a paper bird made a paper nest and then its paper nestlings pooped paper all over it.
And a protein bar.
And a small LED lantern. No, two of them. I don’t know why they’re on my desk and I don’t know where they belong, so I guess they’re staying on the desk for now.
Also, the cat’s nail trimmers. I wondered where those had gone.
Like many folks with ADHD, I have planners of all kinds. Most of them have a few parts filled in before they’re forgotten and shoved into a drawer. In fact, I have a specific planner for craft shows! And yes, it was definitely in danger of following in the footsteps of its previous iterations, but I actually glanced at it today at exactly the right time to remember to pull it out and use it.
So instead of cutting and pressing on interfacing, I’m finally putting all my scattered plans on paper, and sorting through the paper poop nest for the receipts I know I put somewhere at the bottom of the pile.
I wouldn’t change my brain because it’s the key to my creativity. Yes, it makes paperwork and organization a challenge, but without those quirky grooves, I wouldn’t be the crafter/creator/writer and all around person that I am. And I’m good with who I am.
Oh hey! Found that receipt!
