Yeah, fun way to start the New Year. My mother and I both came down with something unpleasant on Jan 2 and I only just got back on my feet yesterday. Thankfully, it seems like I rested enough that being out and about running all the necessary errands didn’t knock me out early, but I slept the sleep of the just last night. Mom is taking longer to fully recover, but she’s getting there.
In the meantime, my desk has piled up.

It’s been worse. Writing deadlines used to see the entire surface buried in piles of reference books, scribbled notes, half-drunk mugs of coffee and empty cans of energy drinks. This, by comparison, is extremely tidy.
But it does need to be handled before I can move on to other tasks, like taking the time to peruse my seasonal Wawak catalog, or opening the black bag of yarn under my planner. (I use a Planner Pad, for the curious. After years of DIYing planners to meet my needs, this one works well with my ADHD brain.) I definitely need to clear my desk before I read my new book, warp my loom for a new project, or turn on my sewing machine.
So I’d best get caught up and back to work!
