Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Which is to say, it’s the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, not Mexican Independence Day, which is in September and was established 50 years prior to the Battle of Puebla.

In other words, eat tacos, drink margaritas, have fun!!

It’s also Millie’s — our feral demon floof’s — first birthday!

I quite literally scooped her up out of a gutter after watching her nearly get smooshed on the road. The vet said she was about a month old, so that makes today roughly her actual birthday. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we named her Milagro, which means “miracle” in Spanish.

So what’s been happening?

Well, MySonTheMarine has spent a month adjusting to civilian life, hanging out with his bestie, working out, and doing a few odd jobs around the house. We’ve just installed him with DH at the Retirement House to do some more odd jobs and hopefully finish the big projects that will allow us to move in.

Oldest Child did very well at our last craft fair, raking in 2/3 of our profits with their jewelry and fine crochet!

I haven’t yet found the audience for my totes. Lots of people stopped to look, but no takers. The shopping bags did well, though. I’m contemplating adding a new reader-focused line of bags and accessories, but we’ll see.

Honestly, it’s just been a lot of day to day things with no big plans for now so I could stay flexible until we’re finally all in one house.
